Michael Rostock - Poplar

Michael Rostock - Poplar Michael is a founding partner of the company. In last five years Michael completed a number of cross-border M&A projects and advised on several private equity investments. Before founding Venture Investors in 1999, he worked as a legal counsel for WoodCommerz. Prior to that he participated on the first issue of eurobonds in the CEE region (the issuer was the Czech power company ČEZ). He also worked for PPF (First Privatization Fund), where he took part in the preparation of several privatization projects in Russia and Bulgaria. He is also a member of the supervisory board of iMall, large online retailer and a member of the advisory board of Tuesday Business Network.

Michael studied Law at Charles University in Prague and went on to pursue graduate studies at St Anthony's College, Oxford (Soros scholar) and Hughe's Hall, Cambridge (Chevening Scholar), where he obtained his masters degree in law (focus on corporate finance law). He specialized in securities and exchanges law and regulation of financial markets. He founded and presided the Central European Society at Cambridge University.

Michal speaks Czech, English, Russian and Polish. Among projects he worked on recently there were several sell mandates from IT and telecommunications companies, acquisition of private University and work for Western European Private Equity funds on the acquisition of Czech Telecom.

Jakub Křížek, CFA, ACCA

Jakub KřížekJakub started his professional path still during his studies working for an international car supplier. Then he participated in fund-optimizing projects for one German and one Czech bank. Jakub started working for VICF in 2005 as a financial analyst. Later, already as a project manager, he worked on numerous projects in ITC, e-commerce, engineering and transportation. Since 2009 Jakub is one of the key employers of the company, responsible for transaction execution. In the past couple of years he has been assisting several shareholders and partners in selling their companies worth billions of CZK. Jakub also facilitates purchases of suitable acquisition targets for expanding companies, prepares growing companies for financial investments and provides promising start-up projects with valuable business and financial advice.

Jakub is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, where he specialized in Financial markets, Corporate Finance and Managerial Information Systems. He also studied at the Univerzität zu Köln, where he was awarded Master in Internation Management CEMS MIN degree. Jakub holds CFA designation and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Jakub speaks Czech, German and English.

Libor Knappek, CFA

Libor Knappek Libor started his career as an analyst at Brno Broker Group. After three years he became the CEO and Chairman of the Board of this company. Then he worked for Corporate Advisors as a member of the Board and managing partner. In 2000 he joined Raiffeisen Capital and Investment Praha – later Raiffeisenbank - being responsible for leading domestic and foreign mergers and acquisitions. He participated, for example, in the acquisition of eBanka by Raiffeisenbank, which was the largest acquisition of the Raiffeisen Group in the Czech Republic. From 2006 he worked for Komerční banka as Head of Corporate Finance. He joined VICF in 2011.

Libor is a graduate of the Technical University in Ostrava, majoring in technical sciences. He spent one year of his studies at the University of MINES ParisTech in France and two years at the McCombs School of Business (The University of Texas in Austin). He completed his CFA Charterholder in 2002. Libor speaks fluent Czech, English and German.

Martin Čížek

Martin Čížek Martin started his career at the time of his university studies. He gained an experience initially in advertising industry with significant automotive client. Co-operation with Czech and Slovak finance holding was the insight to real estate industry, where he worked on research studies for new investment opportunities. Next step was foreign work experience in Great Britain. Strategy department at leading European mobile operator followed afterwards, where he gained valuable experience in the field of telecommunications. Martin joined VICF in 2010 and worked on projects e.g. in ICT, e-commerce, media, energy or transport industry.

Martin finished his studies at University of Economics in Prague, where he specialized on international business and company valuation. He spent part of his studies abroad on internship in France at prestigious business school ESCP Europe in Paris. Martin speaks fluent Czech, English and is advanced in French.

Robert Lukášek

Robert specializes in tax and financial consulting for starting and growing companies. He is a partner of Tax Reform, a company focused on accounting and tax consulting. The company closely co-operates with VI CF.

Robert studied at University of Economics and has ten years experience as an accounting and tax consultant. Until 1999 he worked at Private Investors as the head of the tax and financial department. He speaks Czech, English and German.

Eduard Míka

Eduard Míka Eduard in his previous capacity started IT services company APP Group, on of the high-end IT companies in the Czechoslovakia. Since 1994 he was the company’s CEO. After selling the business to strategic investors in2002, Edvard spends his time as private investor, investing in promising, fast growing companies. Eduard also acts as a Chairman of the supervisory board of iMall, large online retailer and consults on freelance basis with other entrepreneurs.
